So my husband has a kidney stone that is 7mm and from the first day we went to the ER, almost a month ago, it has not moved. It is stuck inn the kidney blocking the ureter. At the urologist’s office, the Dr first doubted whether she’d even be able to reach it with a scope; she pushed for the procedure anyway, with hope that it’s move before surgery day. Even tho it hadn’t budged, they went through with it and put in a stent saying that there’s no way the stone will go anywhere even with the stent in. Now, 2 weeks post op, they’re pushing for the same procedure- and to too it off, he is seeing blood in his urine again and can’t even get a nurse to call him back! Should he go through with the Dane procedure? And if so with the same Dr?

The question that you ask is a urological question.  I am a nephrologist and I have no experience with performing surgery on kidney stones.  You need to address your question to a urologist who is a surgeon and deals with the surgical management of kidney stones.
