Hi Sir, My father-in-law’s creatinine level is very high – 10.05. I would like to know what all foods I can give to him. Like fruits, vegetables, rice etc. In that also all types of fruits and vegetables I can give or only specific food. I heard that barley water is good for his kidney trouble. Kindly help me on this.

I cannot recommend a specific diet without knowing many more things.  I would have to perform a history and physical examination on your father-in-law.  I would have to know all of his electrolytes including sodium, potassium, chloride, bicarbonate level, calcium, phosphorus, parathyroid hormone level, and vitamin D levels.  The diet must be specific to the individual and there is no generic diet that can be prescribed based on a serum creatinine alone.  I suggest that you consult with a dietitian in your country who can review your father-in-laws medical history and review his laboratory findings.  This will lead to proper dietary information.
