I am 83 and have late stage 3 kidney disease. My cholesterol is 211 and LDL is 144. Is it OK for me to take 10 mg pravastatin sodium daily?

Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is a risk factor for heart disease and stroke.  Taking a statin such as pravastatin sodium can decrease the risk of heart attack and stroke in patients with CKD.  If your physician has recommended that you take pravastatin, then I would agree that you should take this medication
