What happens if a kidney transplant patient stops taking anti-rejection meds?

In most cases, if someone stops taking the immunosuppressive medication, the kidney will be rejected and kidney failure will be the result.  I strongly suggest that all kidney transplant recipients continue to take their immunosuppressive medications for the rest of their life, as long as the kidney is functioning well.
