When you are on the dialysis 3 days a week, how often should your kidney doctor check on you when your on the machine? Medicare is paying him.

In order to be paid my Medicare for supervising your dialysis, Medicare requires that your nephrologist visit you at least once monthly and will pay for up to four visits per month while you are on the dialysis machine and performing dialysis in a dialysis center.  If you are at home and performing dialysis at home, Medicare requires that your nephrologist visit you at least once per month.
