Sometimes I have visible blood in the urine. And my urologist says it’s normal. Is it normal?

If you have been checked by a urologist for gross (visible) bleeding into the urine, then this could be normal.  In most cases, it is a urologist that must examine you and determine if visible blood in the urine represents a problem or not.  I am a nephrologist and I usually evaluate microscopic blood in the urine that is only detected by dipstick and is not visible.
