My father is on dialysis since 8 years. He has HCV virus and as per doctors, the virus needs to be treated before transplant. His age is 52 years. So, is it good to go for transplant as he has been on dialysis since long time? Also, curing HCV is not easy, many patients trying to cure are facing health issues. What is your recommendation? He is not diabetic but has High Blood Pressure.

Current treatment of Hepatitis C virus is much more effective and easier that it used to be.  I would recommend that you follow the advice of his doctors.  With current treatments, his prognosis is much better with a kidney transplant that staying on dialysis.
