How much liter water should taken by hemodialysis patients?

The amount of water that should be ingested by a dialysis patient depends on many things, but mostly on the amount of urine that the dialysis patient makes per day.  The amount of urine should be measured.  I generally recommend that dialysis patients restrict water intake to 500 cc (one half liter) per day in addition to the amount of urine that he or she makes per day.  This should be discussed with the nephrologists who is caring for the dialysis patient.
