What does clear cut rejection mean? I’m a 28 year transplant patient and my Doctor told me I’m in clear cut rejection and putting on a prednisone taper. What will this prednisone taper do?

The term “clear cut rejection” is not a medical term and does not have any medical meaning to me. If you have rejection of your kidney, this must be treated and giving a steroid (such as prednisone) is commonly used to treat a rejection.  Prednisone is commonly given in a high dose and then weaned or “tapered” down to a previous dose.
