Is Rituximab frequently used to treat FSGS (original kidney)?

Focal Segmental Glomerulosclerosis (FSGS) is a relatively uncommon kidney disease. It is commonly divided into primary (of unknown cause) and secondary (of known causes). In cases of primary FSGS, steroids, cyclosporine and other agents are more commonly used. In rare cases there have been very few reports of Rituximab (Rituxan) being used for primary FSGS that initially responded to prednisone treatment. Hence, this is a very uncommon treatment for FSGS.
