My new doctor did some blood work at my last physical and things were good except my level: Sodium 145 mmol/L. I am a bit dehydrated and can’t keep from being so dry mouthed at night and during the day I drink so much water and juice and coconut water its crazy. I pee a lot even at night I go to the bathroom at least 4-5 times. I get headaches and a bit confused that I had to retire from my job because I was forgetting things. I told her and there is no diabetes, CKD disease, or other health factors that would cause this. We live in New Mexico and it seemed to have started when we moved here in 2010. I have incontinence as well so I have to wear a pad, (bummer). I was wondering if I should ask for a KUB or other kidney tests. She told me to keep a food diary and I have lost 20 lbs in the past year. I don’t want to have to be on dialysis anytime soon, what should I do? I have had episodes of pain in my back and sometimes I get a stomach ache if I eat certain foods but I don’t think that is the cause. Maybe you can suggest what I can tell my doctor? Yes, I told her all I am telling you. Please help . . . Thank you.

I do not identify any kidney disease based on the information that you present. I am unable to make any other specific diagnosis. I can only suggest that you continue to consult with your physician about your concerns.
